There were no settings available there only version information and a description of what the software does. It did not serve much of a function anyway. The original version of Driveguard used to have an icon in the hidden icon folder in the notification area of the taskbar, this version does not. To verify if the software is loaded and running in the background open Task Manager and click on "More Details", you should see in the list that the Driveguard services are loaded and running in the background. On my system there is no icon in the system tray. Scroll down the list and you should see HP 3D Driveguard in the list. To verify the software is installed, go to your lists of installed apps by right clicking on your Start button then clicking on the "Apps and Features" link in the menu. The process is very quick and closes itself down. When you click on the downloaded service pack where you saved it, Windows automatically opens and installer and asks permission to run it. You could probably be ok to run the update yourself. A previous tech had removed the Driveguard software I had to stop the error message. I have a HP Smartfriends account and had the tech at HP take remote control of my system and had him run the update after I gave him the address of the update page. To be on the safe side it is probably best to delete your current version of Driveguard and rebooting before you install the updated version. The service pack is SP83846 and it installs HP 3D Driveguard version 6.0.45.1 Revision A Business PCs, Workstations and Point of Sale Systemsįound this link through hp, note that the last update to the document is dated.Printer Wireless, Networking & Internet.DesignJet, Large Format Printers & Digital Press.Printing Errors or Lights & Stuck Print Jobs.Notebook Hardware and Upgrade Questions.
